An English Scottish fusion wedding at Pynes House

Rosie & Paul on Their English Scottish Fusion Wedding

We chose Pynes House for our ceremony and reception as it was the perfect place for us! From the moment we saw the stunning house down the tree lined driveway, we were mesmerised by its classic beauty! The stunning building and gorgeous grounds were the most beautiful setting for our day.

The English Scottish Fusion Wedding Look…

We kept our decor simple to showcase the beauty of the Pynes House building itself. Floral arrangements from Poppys Flower Studio included a lot of natural greenery and eucalyptus with hints of rose and thistles, in a nod to our English and Scottish heritage.

As Paul is a proud Scotsman we had elements in reference to Scotland throughout the day. The kilts, bagpipes, Scottish tablet as favours and a brilliant ceilidh before our disco were all a special part of our day.

The Outfits…

I wore a silk, long sleeved flowing dress by Catherine Deane. My Sister and MOH wore an autumnal floral dress. Paul and his groomsmen wore kilts in the family tartan Ramsay Blue.

The Day…

Our day began with guests arriving to bagpipes on the steps of the house in the (unusual) November sunshine! We had our ceremony in the Drawing Room and then canapés and fizz in the rose garden, which was a wonderful way to mingle with our guests early in the day. After a group picture in front of the house, we captured the day with our photographer taking some gorgeous pictures as the sun went down.

Then, we enjoyed a delicious dinner from Pickle Shack in the ballroom, and held cocktail hour and cake cutting with our own special playlist of favourites to get our guests moving! Later, we held our first dance in the ballroom, followed by a Scottish ceilidh and a disco to dance the night away!

The Food…

After canapés in the rose garden, we enjoyed a two-course wedding breakfast with a sharing desert for our guests which was a lovely informal time for us to chat to our guests.

The Entertainment…

Guests were entertained with our bagpiper on arrival and during our confetti exit from the ceremony. Later we used our own playlists for our favourites tunes during dinner and cocktail hour. We then had a live ceilidh band and DJ.

Most Memorable Moment…

The most memorable part of the day was our couple photos along the driveway in front of the house as the sun set. We had a chance to soak up the day so far and were so excited to join our guests for dinner and dancing inside.
