As you exit your wedding ceremony as newlyweds and rejoice under a shower of confetti, it’s time to treat your guests to a magical afternoon wrapped in views of the picture-perfect Devon countryside. From toasting glasses of fizz enveloped by the heady scent of the rose garden to decadent marquee receptions on the lawn and candle-lit suppers in the Ballroom, we urge you to lose yourself in the romance, settle in and put on a party to remember.
Accommodating wedding parties of up to 130 guests, our exclusive Devon wedding venue is perfect for joyous, weekend-long celebrations. For the wedding breakfast, our light-filled Ballroom can be styled with round or long banqueting tables for up to 96 guests, elegantly dressed and ambiently lit to complement the romantic setting. For post-dinner evening parties, the Ballroom can accommodate 130 guests, offering a spacious setting for dancing. If you anticipate more than 96 guests for dinner, we can arrange a marquee to accommodate up to 130 guests in our gardens. This option is available from May to September, making it a picturesque choice for couples dreaming of an English countryside wedding.
Pynes house was our first venue that we saw for our wedding. We knew it was perfect from the moment we set eyes on it. We cannot thank Pynes house enough for hosting what was the best day of our lives. Stunning in every aspect, this wedding venue totally blew away all of our guests. No need to overdo decorations – the house itself was the centre of it all. The amount of comments we had on our choice of venue was unbelievable!

Where do we even start with this stunning wedding venue. We knew instantly it was the dream venue for us. What is truly unique about this venue is how it’s just perfectly set up for a wedding. We utilised each part of the House and Grounds during the day and it meant that each part of the day was really different and fun. The interior of Pynes House is stunning – it’s so stylish and modern, and every single bedroom is beautiful. We really did have the most incredible weekend and our wedding day was more than we could have wished for and more.

WILL THERE BE ANYONE FROM PYNES HOUSE TO HELP ON THE DAY?
Yes, our events manager will be available to assist with set-up the day before your event (if you are staying the night before the wedding) and throughout the day itself to help ensure things run smoothly. They will act as a point of contact for suppliers and your guests.
CAN WE BOOK AN EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT?
Yes, subject to availability and an additional charge. It is possible to arrange for an early check-in and to extend your stay either with a later check-out to 2pm or 5pm or an extra night.
CAN WE HAVE A MARQUEE?
It is possible to have a marquee for dining on our lawns next to the main terraces. An additional charge is made to allow for the extra hire needed for the marquee to be put up and taken down. A marquee, catering tent and furniture for the marquee would be supplied by an external company, and you must choose from one of our approved suppliers.
HOW WOULD WE USE THE SPACES IN THE HOUSE, IF WE WERE HAVING A MARQUEE FOR DINING?
In terms of how you might use the spaces, if planning your ceremony at the house, it could take place in the Ballroom or outside on the front courtyard.
After the ceremony (or after arriving from church, if your ceremony is away from the house), drinks would take place out on the Rose Terrace, if the weather is good, or inside the house in the State Rooms. Your guests would then move down to the marquee for dinner. The band or DJ would set up in the Ballroom ready to welcome your guests for the evening party in the house.
