At Pynes House: Yes, absolutely. When you book Pynes House, the entire country house wedding venue is yours – no other events, no interruptions. You and your guests have exclusive access to the house, gardens, and grounds, creating an intimate and private atmosphere that feels truly special.

2. How many guests can we invite?

At Pynes House: We can accommodate up to 130 guests for a ceremony and seated wedding breakfast during the summer months April- September with a marquee on the lawn, and up to 96 throughout the year and with everything happening within the house. For more intimate weddings or elopements, our spaces scale beautifully, maintaining warmth and elegance for smaller guest lists.

3. Do you offer accommodation onsite?

At Pynes House: Yes. Our twelve bedrooms sleep up to 24 guests in total comfort, combining luxurious interiors with thoughtful details. Staying onsite makes the experience seamless, from relaxed pre-wedding preparations to the quiet magic of waking up in an historic country house.

4. What’s included in the hire price?

At Pynes House: We offer flexible weekend and midweek hire packages. Your exclusive hire includes the house and grounds, all reception rooms, overnight accommodation, and the services of our experienced Event Manager.

5. Are you licensed for civil ceremonies?

At Pynes House: We are fully licensed for civil ceremonies both indoors and outdoors. You can exchange vows on our grand entrance staircase, in the elegant drawing room, or under the Devon sky on our spacious courtyard.

We also host receptions for church ceremonies, and have many beautiful local churches dotted around us, and have lots of recommendations for wonderful celebrants if you would prefer something more personalised.

6. Can we personalise our wedding day?

7. Do you have a recommended supplier list?

At Pynes House: Yes. We work closely with our trusted catering partners Pickle Shack to ensure your day is as delicious as it is beautiful.

We’ve worked also with some of the South West’s most talented and trusted florists, photographers, stylists, musicians, and more. Our curated list includes professionals who understand the unique flow of a Pynes wedding and are committed to exceptional service.

8. What happens if it rains?

At Pynes House: British weather is famously unpredictable, but rest assured, your day will be beautiful, rain or shine. Our interiors are just as breathtaking as our gardens, offering a romantic alternative if the weather takes a turn. We always create a contingency plan in advance, so you can relax knowing you’re in good hands.

9. How long do we have the venue for?

At Pynes House: Our most popular option offers a full weekend experience, from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. Midweek options are also available. This extended stay allows time to settle in, host a rehearsal dinner or welcome drinks, and truly enjoy every moment with your loved ones.

10. Can we visit before booking?

At Pynes House: We would love to welcome you. Private viewings can be arranged at your convenience, and virtual tours are also available for those further afield. Seeing the house in person is often when couples just know it’s the one.
