As spring is well and truly upon us, we thought it would be a perfect time to feature Elisa & Rich’s English country garden wedding. Taking place last May, their celebrations were set amongst the most beautiful spring backdrop with our dusty pink cherry blossom tree in full bloom and bright daffodils lining the driveway. Linking the exterior with the interior quite perfectly, they opted for a rose dusted pink colour scheme, set against minimalist flower arrangements. A Few Words from Elisa on her Springtime English Country Garden Wedding …
First and foremost, Pynes House is a stunning wedding venue and we loved the flexibility that they allow to create your wedding day exactly how you want it. We also loved how you have the house for the full weekend, so that you can have your core group of family and friends there with you from the Friday to the Sunday. It felt special and intimate, and we appreciated that we weren’t rushed to accommodate other weddings either side of ours.
The Outfits…
The bridesmaids wore Monsoon Campbell Cowl Neck Maxi Dress in Pink.
I wore a Kenneth Winston Bridal dress called Ella Rosa, in the strapless version in ivory.

The English Country Garden Wedding Look…
We didn’t have a theme, and instead decorated with a rose dusted pink colour scheme. We kept it simple with flowers only. We had some on the mantelpiece in the Drawing Room and also as centrepieces for the reception in the ballroom. We felt that Pynes House is so beautiful as a setting, it doesn’t need extravagant decoration to feel stunning – it speaks for itself!

The Day…
We spent the morning enjoying the house. The rooms are so incredibly relaxing and we could just enjoy soaking the morning up, knowing that Becca, our Pynes House co-ordinator, was on site and ensuring everything was ready to go.
We had a 2pm ceremony in the Drawing Room – the sweeping staircase aisle was just the most beautiful setting. Rain had been forecast but we were lucky that it held off, and so we had canapés and drinks at the front of the house and around the rose gardens.
We then went through to the Ballroom for dinner, before a cocktail hour beautifully crafted by the wonderful Jay, who heads up the Pynes House bar team. Following this we cut our cake, before an evening of dancing in the Ballroom, relaxing in the Drawing Room and enjoying cheese boards for those who wished.

The Food & Entertainment…
We had heritage tomatoes and mozzarella to start, followed by chicken, ham and leek pies with vegetables and roast potatoes. To finish, we had tiramisu (the best tiramisu you could ever wish to eat!). Pickle Shack were absolutely incredible caterers, who were a joy to work with from start to finish. They allowed us to design a bespoke menu and couldn’t have been more accommodating of dietary requirements, making gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan versions of all of our courses. They even allowed the Maid of Honour to have an adult sized children’s pudding as she doesn’t like tiramisu!
For entertainment, we had an acoustic guitarist playing from the Drawing Room out across the rose garden, during canapés. Throughout and following the wedding breakfast, we used the sound system provided by Pynes House to play playlists which we had created for each setting. Jay and his team worked incredibly hard all day to keep refreshments flowing and pulled the delicious cocktail hour out of the bag to ensure that there was no post meal lull. In the evening we had a live band, The Rustiques.
For little people, we provided a pack including sticker books and digital cameras before the meal, which kept them very entertained and means we have another source of (mixed quality!) pictures.

Something to Add…
Our nephew loved his weekend so much that he still regularly asks if he can go back for another wedding!
