Our country house wedding venue is the epitome of elegance with a warm welcome that makes you feel at home the moment you walk through the doors. The Accommodation
Renowned for our envy-inducing bedrooms, our accommodation offers somewhere for you to unwind in total and utter luxury. We want Pynes House to feel like a home-from-home for the duration of your stay, so you’ll find the comfiest beds, exquisite details and carefully considered rooms that will make you never want to leave. Our Wedding Suite is also the perfect space for you and your team of bridesmaids or groomsmen to get ready on the morning of your special day, but you can read more about that here.
The Drawing Room
A light-filled room where the sun streams in (it’s South facing), the Drawing Room features exquisite furnishings, a magnificent fireplace and a large gilded mirror for the ultimate grandeur. Mainly used for ceremonies, you can make your way down the staircase past the striking stained-glass window into the Drawing Room to see your bride or groom, so you even have your very own aisle! Aside from ceremonies, it also offers the perfect spot for a classic cocktail hour or for your guests to steal a quiet moment or two.
The Ballroom
The largest State room in the house, with seven huge windows that overlook the grounds, gardens, and Exe Valley beyond, the Ballroom is effortlessly elegant. We have space for 130 guests for a bigger ceremony before moving outside for a marquee reception, or we can seat up to 96 for your wedding breakfast.
The Gardens
Renowned for our glorious grounds and gardens at Pynes House, you can opt for an outdoor wedding ceremony with the achingly beautiful Devonshire countryside as your backdrop. Your friends and family can enjoy mingling in the sunshine, soaking up the romance of the Rose Garden while sipping on cocktails and champagne while you have your couple portraits taken. The gardens and woodland also offer exquisite backdrops for your wedding pictures – Pynes House really is a photographer’s dream!
The Wedding Reception
We have two options for your reception at our country house wedding venue. The Ballroom looks equally wonderful with both round tables and long wooden trestle tables, dependant on your personal preference. Our expansive lawn space also lends itself to a spectacular marquee wedding at Pynes House, which is the perfect choice if you want a large Summer celebration embracing the outdoor setting.
The Wedding Cake
We’ve seen some show-stopping wedding cakes and dessert tables over the years, and nothing brings us more joy than seeing couples cut their wedding cake. We have various areas where you can display your wedding cake, with the Drawing Room being a firm favourite amongst our couples. Overlooking the Exe Valley, it’s a breath-taking setting to showcase your edible masterpieces.
The Evening Party
Once the formalities are over, it’s time to dance the night away with your loved ones. Whether you to choose to hire a live band or DJ, the Ballroom has plenty of space for your guests to get up and enjoy themselves, before residing to one of our individually designed bedrooms to recover.
