Accommodating up to 28 guests, each of our 12 guest bedrooms is individually designed to harness a mix of contemporary and classic styles. Complete with elegant furnishings, local artisanal products and high-quality linens, they promise more than just a restful night’s sleep – especially for the soon-to-be-weds!

Everything was simply beautiful, from the venue and gardens to the amazing team working there, and the dreamy bedrooms to stay in – it truly felt like a fairytale to stay there for our wedding period. Every wedding booking (unless otherwise agreed) includes exclusive use of our elegant and versatile State Rooms, 12 luxury bedrooms, the Guest Pantry with seating for up to 30 guests, and a staffed and stocked bar for your wedding within the house. Outside, wrapped in views of the Exe Valley, guests are encouraged to enjoy and make use of the formal terraces, parterres, magical woodlands and expansive lawns.
Every couple is paired with a dedicated event manager who will be there to greet you on arrival, settle you in and assist with set up and the wedding day itself, ensuring everything runs as smoothly as planned.

Though the sprawling countryside offers a retreat sensation, Exeter is just three miles away. Perfect for those morning errands or a dash for freshly baked treats. If you can drag yourself away, guests can always indulge in some local outdoor sports such as horse riding, fishing and shooting. There are also numerous scenic walks to choose from and quaint, cosy pubs nearby too.

Can we stay the night before the wedding to make a weekend or longer midweek stay?
Absolutely! Most of our guests choose to stay the night before the wedding as well so that they can make the most of the weekend. Between April and October, we have a two night minimum stay.
What time is check-in/check-out for bedrooms?
- If you are staying the night before your wedding, you/your suppliers are welcome to set up in the State rooms from 2pm the day before the wedding. Check-in to the bedrooms for overnight guests is from 3pm. We kindly ask that all personal items and decorations are collected by 11am on check-out day. Any hired décor can be retrieved on the following Monday, with prior coordination.
- If you are staying one night, then you and your suppliers would have access to the ground floor of the house and to the wedding suite from 9am. Check-in to the other bedrooms would be at 12pm.
What Facilities do the bedrooms have?
Each guest room comes with plush linens, soft towels, and thoughtful extras such as a hairdryer and hand-picked Bramley toiletries. A communal iron and ironing board are also available for guests’ convenience. The rooms do not have individual tea and coffee facilities as these are available in the Guest Pantry.
First floor bedrooms:
- Northcote (bridal suite): Superking, ensuite bath and separate shower
- Iddesleigh: King, ensuite shower only
- Copleston: Superking, ensuite bath and separate shower
- Larder: King, ensuite shower only
- Stafford: Superking, bath and separate shower shared with Du Pin
- Du Pin: Superking or twin, bath and separate shower shared with Stafford
Second floor bedrooms:
- Chambers: King, ensuite bath and separate shower

Can you supply breakfast or dinner the night before the wedding?
Except for the wedding itself, the house is offered on a self-catering basis. Cosy and communal, the Guest Pantry is a heartwarming hub where guests can gather for morning coffees, casual breakfasts or a shared midnight snack. It’s a self-catering kitchen space that adds to the homely charm of your stay.
