Alice and Tom’s lush summertime wedding is sure to give you some #realweddinginspo. With a delicately neutral colour palette of whites, pale pinks and pale blues, they created a beautiful floral focus throughout the day. Read on to hear more about Alice and Tom’s carefully crafted day which truly showcased themselves as a couple.
Some Words From the Bride…

Alice Says
Pynes House is an absolutely stunning house and it’s decorated beautifully. We really wanted a weekend wedding where our close friends and family could stay at the venue. As soon as we saw it, we just fell in love. The space is also super flexible as was the wedding package, so we felt we had loads of options for each of the elements of our day.
The Outfits…
I wore a glitter tulle Hayley Paige ball gown with spaghetti straps, drop back and a signature Hayley Paige handkerchief skirt with a moonstone belt around the waist. My bridesmaids wore blue lace top dresses from H&M which looked way more expensive than they actually were!

The Day…
Everything went so smoothly on the day and genuinely felt like it was so relaxed after all of the pre wedding stress! We had a church wedding at Newton St. Cyres followed by drinks reception in the rose gardens. We had our wedding breakfast in the main ballroom before heading down to our evening stretch tent in the gardens where we had pizza, a photo booth, and fire pits as we wanted a nice relaxing party in the evening after all the formalities!
The Look…
We kept it fairly neutral with whites, pale pinks and pale blues. We also wanted to incorporate lots of green foliage into the flowers too. Flowers were super important to me as my late mother was a floral designer, so we mostly used florals as decoration.
For the ceremony we opted for floral arrangements down the aisle. These could then be moved and reused in the stretch tent in the evening. We also had 2 large urns at the end of the aisle. They were again reused in the main house, entering the reception room. For the reception, we wanted to keep it simple given how many people we had to fit in. There were wreath shaped centrepieces with candles in the middle. We also used pale blue tablecloths and white napkins for quite a clean look. There was a floral runner on the top table too.

Most memorable moment? The evening once all the formalities were over and we could really let our hair down (helped by our vodka luge in the shape of our dog!)

The Food…
We worked with Pickle Shack to develop our ideal menu that was suited to our tastes. They were incredible at developing everything bespoke to our tastes. They also recommended flavours to go together based on our favourite foods.
We had the most amazing cake from Jen at Edible Essence, who had the ridiculously hard task of pleasing a bride who buys cake for a living! She did an incredible job of our 4 tier cake. Each tier had a different flavour – it was stunning and definitely wowed our guests!
The Entertainment…
We had my husband’s cousins playing music during the drinks reception. Throughout the day we just ensured there were lots of drinks flowing.
In the evening we had pizza, a photobooth camper van, vodka luge, doughnut wall, fire pit, band and DJ so there was plenty to mingle around and to keep everyone entertained. We also had a free bar which our guests really appreciated.

Some Advice…
It was the best day ever and we probably over-thought absolutely every tiny detail, but in the end as long as you’re married at the end of the day, then everything else will fall into place. It will be the best day regardless of whether you spend a little amount of money or a huge amount of money so don’t sweat the small stuff!
Thanks so much to Pynes House – genuinely felt like our home for the weekend and just made us feel so welcome and relaxed. The owners are so accommodating and it made everything so much easier!
