Lauren Says…
We fell in love with Pynes House the moment we drove up the beautiful driveway! We can only describe it as what you see in the movies. The image of getting married on the front of the steps in the sunshine, surrounded by our loved ones, completely sealed the deal. You are spoilt with stunning grounds and a stunning house – it really is as perfect as the pictures suggest.
The Outfits…
I wore a Rosa Clara gown with a plunge neckline and a beaded lace body. I had two tulle bows that draped from my shoulders, making it a real showstopper. My bridesmaids wore a simple sage green off the shoulder gown from TFNC.
We wouldn’t have felt half as amazing as we did if it wasn’t for the incredibly talented Jade Isla Make Up and Natalie Nichols Hair – they are top class!

The Day…
We always wanted our wedding to be classic and modern, and Pynes House fitted that ideal so perfectly. We were unfortunately postponed twice due to Covid, but it was the third time lucky for us. By then we were proud parents too, so it was even more special to share it with our favourite little human!
We were thrilled with our supplier list and knew we were in wonderful hands with them all. They certainly all delivered and went above and beyond our expectations. The dream was to get married outside in front of the house, and this wish came true – we were very lucky with the sunshine that day for our black tie wedding. Our day was relaxed, joyous and filled with good food and music. We couldn’t have hoped for more.
The Look…
Our colour scheme was a mixture of white, with touches of pastel pink and sage green. We wanted fresh colours to highlight the black tuxedos the men wore, for the black tie wedding.
We created our own modern signage, which featured around the house in key areas. We used floral arrangements everywhere as we love flowers and so this was a huge part of our day – it made the venue smell amazing!! For the wedding reception tables, we put candles in beautiful glassware which we had collected from charity shops. This made the Ballroom look really romantic. A real wow was the incredible cake table in the Drawing Room which was just as delicious as it looked – so intricate.

Stick to your gut on things like colour scheme, flowers, décor, menu choices etc and don’t flood your mind looking at too many Instagram accounts.
The Food…
Our wedding breakfast menu was designed with our favourite foods in mind. We love pork belly and often have this if we eat out and our ultimate go to dessert is sticky toffee pud – what’s not to love! We were spoilt for choice with Pickle Shack. We also featured the Cornish Rattler as one of our signature drinks – Adam (the Groom) is Cornish, so this was a must!
The Entertainment…
We had a wonderful magician who quite literally blew everyone away. This was alongside an acoustic duo during our drinks reception in the rose garden – their music was so beautiful. In the evening, our band (Switch) couldn’t have been cooler. We’ve never heard so many people say “they are the best band ever!”.

Most Memorable Moment
We have several moments that we always talk about… the moment where we first saw each other will always stand out, especially as our little boy was present and waiting at the end of the aisle too. The speeches were amazing – so personal, funny and eye-watering. Our videographer (Studio Westlake) caught all of the speeches and it’s wonderful to listen back to them. And our first dance… our band sung it live for us and we remember entering the room to a big cheer. The only thing that mattered in that moment was ‘we are finally married!!!’.
Something to Add…
It’s your day, so do it your way. It’s about you as the couple. Also take a moment just the two of you at some point during the day to really take it all in – it really does fly by!
We hope to renew our vows in ten years’ time at Pynes House!
