More than just a luxury wedding venue in the UK, Pynes House is rich with history and is believed to be the inspiration for Barton Park in Jane Austen’s Sense & Sensibility.

From the very first time we approached Pynes House, down the magnificent tree-lined drive, and arrived at the large ornate front doors, we knew we had landed upon something very special. The unique feeling you experience on arrival is like coming home, and we hope you feel the same.

WILL THERE BE ANYONE FROM PYNES HOUSE TO HELP ON THE DAY?

Yes, our events manager will be available  to assist with set-up the day before your event (if you are staying the night before the wedding) and throughout the day itself  to help ensure things run smoothly. They will act as a point of contact for suppliers and your guests.

CAN WE BOOK AN EARLY CHECK-IN OR LATE CHECK-OUT?

Yes, subject to availability and an additional charge. It is possible to arrange for an early check-in and to extend your stay either with a later check-out to 2pm or 5pm or an extra night.

CAN WE HAVE A MARQUEE?

It is possible to have a marquee for dining on our lawns next to the main terraces. An additional charge is made to allow for the extra hire needed for the marquee to be put up and taken down. A marquee, catering tent and furniture for the marquee would be supplied by an external company, and you must choose from one of our approved suppliers.

HOW WOULD WE USE THE SPACES IN THE HOUSE, IF WE WERE HAVING A MARQUEE FOR DINING?

In terms of how you might use the spaces, if planning your ceremony at the house, it could take place in the Ballroom or outside on the front courtyard.

After the ceremony (or after arriving from church, if your ceremony is away from the house), drinks would take place out on the Rose Terrace, if the weather is good, or inside the house in the State Rooms. Your guests would then move down to the marquee for dinner. The band or DJ would set up in the Ballroom ready to welcome your guests for the evening party in the house.
